  • Alabama scholastic chess

I'm impressed that Alabama scholastic chess can offer a tournament at absolutely no cost to its participants. And if the "lunch and snacks provided" are also gratis they we're truly talking a bargain (:

Alabama has the Crimson Tide football team and a stadium with more than 82,000 capacity. Tickets look to be 55 and up. They also have other sports teams and sell tickets as far as I know.

I'm not sure how the money from the games gets spread around for the programs or if any would go to chess.

Hard to compare the models between Canada and the U.S.

By the way, I wouldn't want to live there in the Heart of Dixie.
