There is a pretty high class tournament taking place in the British Isles, the Isle of Man to be specific, with a cast of top players led by Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Mickey Adams. Leading after 8 rounds are British Champion David Howell (ranked 7th), and the indomitable Nigel Short (ranked 8th). Results and games at https://arena.chessdom.com/#/stream_...ments/show/479

Nigel Short emerged victorious, beating David Howell in the final round. A very nice result for the "old master".

Yes congratulations to Nigel Short! - he's still a real gamer and can raise his level of play when he needs to!

Fun to see a major tourney in my old stomping grounds; I've played with most of the local players who participated in the Masters. Sounds like it was nothing but fun.
