  • Qatar Chess Masters

The first Qatar Chess Masters has quite an impressive lineup for its inaugural tournament. The following 'Gulf Times' news item cites 20 of the top 50 GMs in the world, albeit only mentioning the #2 seed, Vladimir Kramnik.

In checking the 'Players list' I see that 3 of my favourite mavericks, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Baadur Jobaba, and Richard Rapport are all top 10 seeds. And Eric Hansen is the #70 seed.
