About time; There seems to be alot of coffee drinking by chess players. I though 5-hour energy drink would be a good match for a 5-hour games in a tournament.

Except there's no real evidence that anything other than the caffeine content has any effect. If you want a giant jolt of caffeine you can get it much cheaper in pill form.

Anyone planning on taking such supplements should talk it over with their doctor.

There is nothing wrong with the guy making some money with the sponsorship, but I wonder if he is actually drinking the stuff during the games, or if the can sitting there is just a prop.

This 3 minute CNN video has at least one inaccuracy. Nakamura isn't the only chess player that Red Bull sponsers. Red Bull also sponsers WGM & IM Tania Sachdev, who recently picked up her 2nd GM norm at the Commonwealth Chess Championship (2nd link).

This 'Cockroach Milk May Be the Next Big Thing' article by Kali Holloway is in no way chess related unless one wants to make the argument that cockroach milk may be the far healthier choice (to Red Bull) for the enterprising chess player. :)
