  • Aurora CC - Sergey Noritsyn Simul on Dec 15

Our own superstar Sergey Noritsyn will challenge everyone who will come on time (6:30pm) on Dec 15 at the Aurora Chess Club. He is a champion on various levels and age groups. (maybe we will collect all his stats later)

Yesterday we had a rapid night. It attracted many new and former club players. The hall was full as never before (45 players). David MacLeod showed his class winning all 6 games. In the picture he still on board 4 (white side)

    Updates:

    A. The simul will take place in in two classrooms Rooms 223 and 224. Please go UP the stairs from the car park. Walk left and take the first right past the school office. Walk down the corridor and our rooms are at the end and right.

    B. Sergey will play black and white sides.

    C. Parking may be a problem (high school students will do recital) - get there EARLY to get a space! The club opens at 6pm for set-up so Bernie and Graeme will be onsite to welcome you!

    D. Cakes will wait you :)

Sergey is a very talented young fellow. Probably you heard about his chess achievements like winning U8 and U12 CYCC, or the U10 North America chess champion. However his list goes beyond chess: sambo and judo champion (don't mess around with him LOL ), and of course math there and here - Grade 5 Ontario and Grade 6 Canada Math Olympiad Champions.

What a classy performance by Sergey. Facing 27 players he managed to win 23, drew one, and lose 3. He took his task seriously.

      or maybe not

It looked that some spots where more lucky than others.

Hassan (+1), Zdravko (=), and Alireza (a very nice win).

Dave, who snatched the Sergey's queen, and then the rook. A magic hand.

Everybody went home as winners after tasting the gorgeous cake.
