Yeah I was watching that game, tough loss for Richard, but Canada is still 3 points away from Iran (who surprisingly beat Russia!)

                  Re: World U16 Olympiad-Gyor Hungary

GM Kallai spoke highly of Richard today at the MTK Xmas blitz tournament. Kallai, one or our club's 3 coaches has been helping Hungarian players prepare against Richard and others.

'He is a very strong player...'

MTK has 3 coaches(a GM, an IM and an FM) each giving 2hrs training per week for club members. We are the only club with this level of training in Budapest so I am quite happy to be on this team. Usually we have to solve endgame studies and then get an update on chess news for the week. The endgame part is a planned curriculum but the other topics can be quite varied.

Kallai's friday class is for the top-level players (2000-2200) but anyone from any level can attend. It is in Hungarian but when there is an important point to be made he switches to English so I can keep up. Usually I am the only adult in the class, the others are the top juniors at our club.

Congratulations Team Canada! (actually all three teams!) - you have plenty of memories to take with you. 5th place finish and scaring India amongst many other great moments (brilliancy prize games no less!) is fantastic! and much to be proud of.
