Interesting read. I still have a soft spot for the 8th game between Kramnik and Leko in 2004. A Marshall gambit where Leko let one of Kramnik's pawns run away just to get a few tempis for an attack.

And as the author emphasize the importance of computers, this game could have been in the list. OTB, Leko found a huge hole in Kramnik's preparation, which was done with a computer. Today's engines still require some time before finding all the nuances.

Is that the game where the computers evaluated the game improperly because of the horizon effect?

The Spanish Marshall Gambit has lots of interesting lines. I use the Total Marshall by Harding to prepare lines I want to play as black. It's on CD and contains a lot. Harding used to do a book on the defence but the last one I bought from him was on CD. I don't know if he's updated it since.
