    Le 48e CHAMPIONNAT ÉCHECS DES ÉCOLES SECONDAIRES DE L’ONTARIO

    Most details concerning the event are outlined in the information form,
    which can be downloaded from the website.
    Further details are available at our website: http://www.ohscc.on.ca

    We will be happy to answer any other questions by e-mail.

    Please consider asking your Student Council and/or School Council to sponsor your team.
    Many schools do this, and are hence able to bring more players.

    The Championship is in Toronto, and can be accessed by TTC;
    many students and teachers prefer to stay in the nearby residence or hotel to avoid late evening and early morning travel.

    Meals are available at many nearby restaurants throughout the tournament.

    In some years, over 200 students from more than 50 schools have taken part in the Championship.
    We hope to match or exceed this number in 2015.

    The main group of players is from Grades 7 (“Junior High” through 12;
    elementary students who can compete at this level are also welcome.
    Last year, a few high schools brought one or more students from a feeder school with their team.

    As explained in the information form, there are three sections:
    Championship, Intermediate, and Beginner.
    There is a place for students of every level of chess knowledge and ability.

    It is an individual tournament, with prizes for the top in each section, the top in each school grade, and the top Girl in each section.

    For schools which have 3 or more players in any section, there are team prizes as well;
    for schools with at least one player in all three sections, there is also a Combined Team prize.

    Your school can enter as many players as it is able to enter.
    Online entry is preferred; copies of the entry form (also available from the website) can be distributed to students to collect the information.
    Payment may be made online via PayPal, or by sending cheque(s) to the address given.
