I'm not sure who the author of this chess-news.ru piece on Alexander Donchenko is, but I find his/her style rather caustic. Alexander Donchenko is currently the #5 rated U18 on the planet yet the article says things like "whose ELO is only 2511 on Januray 1st" (2552 on February 1st) and "his style is far from bright and tactical".
Rather harsh words to describe a 16-year-old I must say, especially a 16-year-old coming off a 2803 TPR and whom Romain Edouard recently credited for developing the ideas behind the new Queens Gambit Accepted line that Edouard and Nakamura have been using with such great success. Nonetheless, I did appreciate the 'video interview' link (:

Tangentially, if Bindi describes Mark Plotkin's 46-year-old father as "old" (in a complimentary manner I should hasten to point out), I wonder how he'd describe Alexander's 74-year-old father, IM Anatoly Donchenko (:

I remember when 46 seemed old. The closer I get to it, the younger it seems. . . :-)
