Re: Richard Riedstra memorial tournament (planned) 14th-15th March

The top seed, Andrew Peredun, still had 2/2 points after the 2nd round, and Gord Olheiser's attack (also with 2) won his his game against Hans Jung in the 2nd round. For the 3rd round, Mahmud Hassain tries the black side against Andrew, while Gord, Hans and Ed Thompson each had byes. Tom McClelland and Brian Clarke are directing the tournament.

Hal Bond and Mario Piccinin will prove to be a battle between presidents (zonal and city club, respectively), Istvan Kiss and Daniel Yu are on the next board, followed by Austin Hunter and Jamie MacInnis, and finally Peter Downie vs Qalib Ladhani.

Good luck to all the participants, especially with a few cities being busy with chess tournaments this weekend!

Andrew Peredun won the Riedstra tournament, which should be rated in the upcoming couple of weeks. Thanks to the players attending from Guelph and the surrounding area.
