  • You can qualify to play in Edmonton with GM Ivanchuk and GM Harikrishna (2700's)

    The winner of the Qualifier will get to play in the Edmonton International, with 2700-level GMs Ivanchuk and Harikrishna (Update: Also GM Wang Hao).
    The Qualifier is held in Edmonton on May 2-3, and it is open to everyone who has a FIDE rating.

    The Edmonton International will be held the next month, June 20th-28th: http://edmonton-international.com/Participants.html

    Last year's Qualifier winner was FM Alex Yam (2285), and he played against the Grandmasters in the Edmonton International .

    Update: GM Wang Hao (2713) from China has just joined the Edmonton International.
    The winner of the qualifier will now get to play three players in the 2700's, plus two other 2600 GMs (Shankland and Ganguly).

          Definitely considering it. Going to be up there a few times this summer anyways so maybe I can make it work with one of those trips!
