    Nice to see one of my chess heroes in action: the former USSR Champion (1985) Mikhail Gurevich, although these days he's looking a bit like Superman's nemesis Lex Luthor.

    Judging by the photo, the years have been kind to Lev Alburt (70) and Tamaz Georgadze (67), who played a friendly match as a side event. According to the article, in 1991 Georgadze moved back to Tbilisi, quit chess, and went into business. This is the first (semi) serious event he has played in 24 years.
