Is there a Toronto Open this weekend? If not - is this the first year in a long time there has been no Easter weekend event in Toronto?

    Re: Toronto Open?

With the lack of responses, I will assume there isn't one this year. According to the CFC crosstable page, there were Toronto Opens (under that name, or with "Toronto Open" as part of the name) held on Easter weekend in 2014, 2010, 2009, 2007, 2006, 2003, 2002, 2001, and 2000. Additional sources show an uninterrupted series (prior to 2000) going back to at least the early 1960's.

    (I played in 1973, 1974, 1975, 1977, 1979, 1980, 1981, and 1982).

According to 97% of climate scientists worldwide, global warming may be due to the abundance of Toronto Opens held around Easter weekend during the last 50 years.

The exact cause / effect mechanism hasn't been pinpointed, but is postulated to be this: the years when there is a Toronto Open over Easter weekend, the Easter bunny has far less stops to make, less Easter candy gets eaten, less calories get stored as fat, and somehow this helps melt the ice sheets around Greenland. It's an offshoot of the Butterfly Effect.

Of course there's a Toronto Open this year! It's just moved to the suburbs. This year it's in the part of GTA called Philadelphia which is somewhere just past Mississauga (although I see no Miss'ga players in the field).
