    Re: GM Walter Browne RIP

Just saw him in action on the weekend in Las Vegas. He was very active at the Festival as the article indicates. I didn't get a chance to go to his lecture this year, but enjoyed his lecture last year. RIP.

I remember his backgammon sessions between rounds at a Quebec Open in Montreal, and poker at the World Open. I had some long talks with him about the WBCA (World Blitz Chess Association) at a couple of National Opens in Vegas. RIP.

          GM Walter Browne RIP

Macauley Peterson is the Content Director for chess24 in Hamburg. When Lawrence Trent was on camera, he often talked to Macauley about the games they were reviewing.

He is a film producer and a chess journalist.

Recently he wrote about remembering Walter Browne:

giving what Walter considered his best game – against Arthur Bisguier in Chicago, 1974 and the last tournament game he ever played, against 12-year-old Hans Niemann in Las Vegas, June 2015.

            Feingold's Tribute to Walter Browne

            July 21, 2015

GM Ben Feingold remembers Walter Browne in this lecture from the St. Louis Chess Club, telling various stories (most, but not all of them, about Browne) while showing one game from Browne in every decade from the '60s of the last century through the '10s of this one.
