  • Thanks to John Windsor Chess Challenge supporting WYCC trip for Windsor Players

Every year since 2013 Mr. John Coleman grants Windsor players who are qualified and will play WYCC for the trip, this year Lily Zhou is luckily received the grant. I bet players from other cities will be jealous and wish they have someone like John who spent so much time and energy on promoting Windsor Chess. John is not only organizing and supporting Windsor youth chess players, but also teaches and practices with them. John was Lily's first chess teacher literally. Lily started to play chess in John's free Wednesday chess club and John taught Lily and other kids free of charge, until Lily was qualified for Brazil WYCC the first year, John was the only teacher.
Thanks again John, We wish you enjoy your retirement but still hope you continue organizing Windsor Chess Challenge and the chess clubs.
We are lucky we have a chess community leading by John, where coaches, parents and kids are working together.

Congratulations Lily Zhou! Well deserved -- Lily continues to be a fine ambassador of chess for Canada at the 2015 World Youth Chess Championships.

I share the sentiment regarding Mr. John Coleman. John has given back countless hours to the chess community in order for our youth to enjoy a better future.

    Thank you Mr. Coleman!
