  • Hit the Rudd, Jack

Chessgames.com's game of the day today, "Hit the Rudd, Jack" is a great prompt to get the Ray Charles classic up to 100 million hits (:

As to the Icelandic Gambit game itself, I'm pleasantly surprised that Houdini already has Black equalized (0.00) after the mainline 5.d4 and Stockfish even has Black slightly better (-0.06). The game was essentially over after White's inaccuracy/blunder 8.Qe2 (in lieu of the correct 8.Qe3). Who's afraid of pawn forks? (:

Keeping with both the music and Scandinavian theme this far from gloomy Sunday, Angelina Jordan doesn't play chess but she's certainly already competing with Magnus Carlsen for Norway's most popular person with more than 60 million composite YouTube hits (:

And for the answer as to why she always performs barefoot, this should warm your Sunday up (:

Maybe she was inspired by Anne Murray, who also used to perform barefoot :)

Jack Rudd gets his second 'fifteen-minutes-of-fame' in ten days! See the game Kosten v. Rudd at Chessbase:
