European Team Championship Reykjavik 2015

The Icelandic Chess Federation under the auspices of the European Chess Union has organized the European Team Chess Championship which will be held from November 12th (day of arrival) until November 22nd 2015 in Reykjavik, Iceland.
The 2015 ETCC will be held in Reykjavík’s Laugardalshöll sports-arena, the number one sports and exhibition centre in Reykjavik, which was the playing hall of the Match of Century in 1972, between Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky.
The Government of Iceland Iceland has decided to provide the Icelandic Chess Federation with funding in the amount of 25m ISK (€170k), to cover the cost of hosting the European Team Chess Championship.

Free Day (Nov. 18) Bobby Fischer Center Tour
The Bobby Fischer Center bus tour takes you on a half-day trip to the town of Selfoss were you will visit the grave of Bobby Fischer before heading over to the Bobby Fischer Center. The Bobby Fischer Center houses memorabilia of the world chess champion Robert James Fischer. The Center also serves as a club house for Skákfélag Selfoss and others that want to play chess, offers chess classes, and hosts chess tournaments. In addition, the Center has a small chess library for those who want to learn more about chess and offers lectures about the chess game and other related matters.
At the Bobby Fischer Center there are items related to Bobby Fischer on display. They are mainly from his stay in Iceland, i.e. when he became the world champion in Reykjavík 1972 and his last years after he became an Icelandic citizen.
A few hundred meters away from the Center, the grave of Bobby Fischer is located at the Laugardælir cemetery.
