Comments on Hansen-Koop in the English Chess Forum

Did the Eric Hansen game really happen as advertised? That's an extraordinary blunder to be made.

Eric Hansen confirmed this on Twitter: "@hansenchess: Gladly accepted a free queen today. 3/3 in London"

Thanks, no better confirmation than that.

The reason I said that I can believe it is because I have both won and lost a queen in one move to a N move.

Now I'm having trouble believing it, though, because in my two games a N moved and attacked a Q but here the Q moved...

Koop could have thought that Hansen had moved the other one instead, 21.Nb2-a4, then 21... Qd3 is playable.

Perhaps he will twitter about it one day.

    Round 4, Dec. 6, 2015

Aman, I see you don't like to waste words. But what are you referring to? And what are you trying to say?

And with his win this morning, Eric is in sole possession of first place with 6/7 only four others can catch him this round by winning their games. GO Eric win it all!

This isn't accurate. After round 7, Eric was on 6/7 but was tied with two others. He was paired vs one of them (GM Bok) in round 8 and lost.

It was accurate at the time I wrote it as Eric's was the first game to finish, at which time the post was made.
