Thanks guys for your replies, appreciate it!

I only stumbled upon the Port Huron CC a couple of days ago in a google search I was conducting. And WOW! that's some awesome effort (and humble too) sustained over a long period of time.

I read everything on their website.

The reason I found them was because we here at SoCA want to start some cross-border chess skirmishes And that neck of the woods has some historically deep significance ...making it a good place to start.

Bob, if you could put together a chess club in Sarnia (perhaps Zombie the one from the past) ... challenge the Port Huron CC to a match ... SoCA will supply trophies and prize fund.

    OTB would be ideal ...

I was just recently in communication with an organizer in Southwestern Ontario, who is a member of the Port Huron CC (Still thriving). I had asked the same question - Sarnia is my hometown. I was told there is currently NO chess club in Sarnia.

According to Google, chess was "alive and well" in Sarnia - in 2009.

Or try the Port Huron CC across the river.
