Good question William. Sooner is better. 9:00am is ideal. 9:30 is fine if you have prepaid.

If someone is unrated, but experienced, are they restricted to which sections they can play in? I have someone that played in India, but doesn't have a rating. Based on his play against a 1700 player, I'd guess his rating to be 1500 or so.

If someone is unrated, but experienced, are they restricted to which sections they can play in? I have someone that played in India, but doesn't have a rating. Based on his play against a 1700 player, I'd guess his rating to be 1500 or so.
Please let me know what he can qualify for.

I got word yesterday from the University that guest wifi codes will not be available this weekend because they are migrating the whatsits.

It's impossible to predict who you will play in Round 1.
No organizer would be able to tell you who you're likely to play, since there are too many variables. Even if player X has requested a bye, it's irrelevant. Canadian weekend tournaments allow for too much fluidity. Even if you could predict a range of 4 or 5 opponents you could likely face, it's too big a chance, plus it won't take into account colours. Player A might withdraw last minute if not feeling well, Player B might miss his bus and send the organizer a message saying he now needs a Round 1 bye, Player C will change section (from higher to lower or lower to higher), Players D, E, F will join last minute, etc...

In any case, it looks to be an exciting tournament! Good luck William and bring back some good games,
