  • Blowing My Own Horn

A while back I wrote how much I liked the books "Rampant Chess" and "Streetfighting Chess". Both are from Scotland and I have had a little back and forth correspondence with the authors since then.

In the spirit of Gens una sumus, I had sent them a copy of my book "Chess is a Struggle". Geoff Chandler was nice enough to mention it in his latest "Chandler Cornered" column for the Chess Edinburgh website.

CMA still sells this book (as do I). I am disappointed that the idea of putting out your own book didn't really catch on. I know that there are a lot of players out there with some interesting games and ideas to offer. It's never too late to get started folks. :)

Nowdays any player can put his games on Youtube, good or bad or terrible and provide commentary & sit back & watch the hits come in. Some of the games on there are quite attrocious, if they weren't misleading others who don't know any better I would say they are harmless.
