Due to diminishing turnouts for this event, we will try a different format, one I believe may appeal to a larger base of players. Starting this Saturday, June 6th, The event will be a five round 15 minute active - what used to be called a rapid transit way back when when chess clocks were first invented (before colour TV :)) We will still use the blitz ratings for pairing purposes and entry fees and prize distribution will be much the same. The event should prove friendlier to mid-range rated players (ie 1500 - 1800).
The results for the May 30 blitz (7 players dblRR) were:
1st Prize: Leonid Gerzhoy 11 - 1
2nd Prize: Victor Plotkin 9 1/2
3rd Prize: Karl Sellers 8 points
B Prize: Nikola Brajkovic, John Chidley-Hill 3 points each
