Our female team of Qiyu Zhou, Svitlana Demchenko and Rachel Miller representing Ottawa could win the City's Challenge Cup.

Rachel is registered for Jamaica, and lives in Ottawa because her family are diplomats. Otherwise she could have played in the Zonal last month.

Rachel and Qiyu played each other in the Ron Rodgers tournament on Thursday night at the RA Chess Club. Probably the only game in North America that week featuring two players who competed in the Olympiad. Qiyu won.

There is the possibility Alexandre Lesiege could play Maili-Jade Ouellet in the Varennes tournament this weekend. :-)
