General Guidelines
---- Nous avons besoin d'un traduction français!
Some Basics
1. Under Board "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs) there are 3 sections dealing with General Forum Usage, User Profile Features, and Reading and Posting Messages. These deal with everything from Avatars to Your Notifications. Most general technical questions are covered there. Here is a link to the FAQs. https://forum.chesstalk.com/help
2. Consider using the SEARCH button if you are looking for information. You may find your question has already been answered in a previous thread.
3. If you've looked for an answer to a question, and not found one, then you should consider asking your question in a new thread. For example, there have already been questions and discussion regarding: how to do chess diagrams (FENs); crosstables that line up properly; and the numerous little “glitches” that every new site will have.
4. Read pinned or sticky threads, like this one, if they look important. This applies especially to newcomers.
5. Read the thread you're posting in before you post. There are a variety of ways to look at a thread. These are covered under “Display Modes”.
6. Thread titles: please provide some details in your thread title. This is useful for a number of reasons. It helps ChessTalk members to quickly skim the threads. It prevents duplication of threads. And so on.
7. Unnecessary thread proliferation (e.g., deliberately creating a new thread that duplicates existing discussion) is discouraged. Look to see if a thread on your topic may have already been started and, if so, consider adding your contribution to the pre-existing thread. However, starting new threads to explore side-issues that are not relevant to the original subject is strongly encouraged. A single thread on the Canadian Open, with hundreds of posts on multiple sub-topics, is no better than a dozen threads on the Open covering only a few topics. Use your good judgment when starting a new thread.
8. If and/or when sub-forums are created, please make sure to create threads in the proper place.
Debate
9. Give an opinion and back it up with a reason. Throwaway comments such as "Game X pwnz because my friend and I think so!" could be considered pointless at best, and inflammatory at worst.
10. Try to give your own opinions, not simply those copied and pasted from reviews or opinions of your friends.
Unacceptable behavior and warnings
11. In registering here at ChessTalk please note that the same or similar rules apply here as applied at the previous Boardhost message board. In particular, the following content is not permitted to appear in any messages:
* Racism
* Hatred
* Harassment
* Adult content
* Obscene material
* Nudity or pornography
* Material that infringes intellectual property or other proprietary rights of any party
* Material the posting of which is tortious or violates a contractual or fiduciary obligation you or we owe to another party
* Piracy, hacking, viruses, worms, or warez
* Spam
* Any illegal content
* unapproved Commercial banner advertisements or revenue-generating links
* Any link to or any images from a site containing any material outlined in these restrictions
* Any material deemed offensive or inappropriate by the Board staff
12. Users are welcome to challenge other points of view and opinions, but should do so respectfully. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Posts and threads with unacceptable content can be closed or deleted altogether. Furthermore, a range of sanctions are possible - from a simple warning to a temporary or even a permanent banning from ChessTalk.
Helping to Moderate
13. 'Report' links (an exclamation mark inside a triangle) can be found in many places throughout the board. These links allow users to alert the board staff to anything which is offensive, objectionable or illegal. Please consider using this feature if the need arises.
Advice for free
14. You should exercise the same caution with Private Messages as you would with any public posting.
Did you even bother reading the article? The abstract says exactly what I said
AN ANALYSIS OF DONALD TRUMP’STAX PLANJim Nunns, Len Burman, Jeff Rohaly, and Joe RosenbergDecember 22, 2015ABSTRACTThis paper analyzes presidential candidate DonaldTrump’s tax proposal. His plan would significantly reducemarginal tax rates onindividuals and businesses, increase standard deduction amountsto nearly four times current levels, and curtail manytax expenditures. His proposal would cut taxes at all income levels, although the largest benefits, in dollar and percentage terms, would go to the highest-income households. The plan would reduce federal revenues by $9.5 trillion over its first decade before accounting for added interest costs or considering macroeconomicfeedbackeffects. The plan would improve incentives to work, save, and invest. However, unless it is accompanied by very large spending cuts, it could increase the national debt by nearly80percent of gross domestic productby 2036, offsettingsome or all of the incentive effects of the tax cu
Read it again, Sid.
"The plan would reduce federal revenues by $9.5 trillion over its first decade before accounting for added interest costs...." It would significantly lower taxes for guys like us, and Rex, but the net effect would be adverse for the middle class and below.

Yes that is what the articles analysis claims that in itself is subject to debate. You still have not shown any reference where Trump himself specifically proposed what you claimed earlier in this thread.

Of course Trump is not going to claim his plan raises taxes on the middle class and gives tax breaks to the wealthiest individuals! That's political suicide. But what Trump claims doesn't matter. After the last debate, Trump claimed he won the CBS post-debate poll -- CBS replied that they didn't even hold a post-debate poll. Trump just makes things up as he goes along. All this talk about a "rigged election" is just a call to arms to his most loyal supporters, and to put the seeds of doubt into the undecided voters who maybe were fans of the X-Files and very ready to believe in conspiracy theories.
So bottom line for readers is, don't pay attention to what Trump says about his tax plan. Pay attention to what the fiscal experts are saying, and they are all saying it hurts the middle class and gives breaks to the entire Trump family and all other top earners. So even if Trump himself pays no income taxes, his family would still benefit.
Keep in mind, Trump claimed in the first debate that if he paid more income taxes, "it would all be squandered, believe me." Trump is an expert in squandering, which is part of why he had to declare corporate bankruptcy 4 times while the penthouse of his Trump Tower is furnished and decorated using pure gold. Squandered, indeed!
Actually, Sid, I'd like to hear you talk about that more than about Trump's tax plan. Plenty of wealthy individuals have not taken advantage of bankruptcy laws to get where they are now, but Trump has on 4 occassions. What are your thoughts on that?
Only the rushing is heard...
Onward flies the bird.

Exactly correct Paul. Why would anyone place any credibility on anything Trump says?
He just says whatever he thinks will "close the deal" as the salesman/conman that he is. Sometimes it's true, sometimes it's false, I doubt he even understands the difference. Inside Trumps head: if he says it, it must be true! Even if he contradicts himself 15 seconds later.
It is both amusing and sad to see his surrogates try to explain what he really meant!
That's when Trump will begin to * Drain The Swamp * in Washington!
Actually November 9th is when the Republican Party will begin the slow process of radical transformation. So happy to see Trump bring out record number of voters during the primaries, they then will realize that all those voters just weigh them down. The majority of the new voters that came out were all the racists and bigots and xenophobes that the Bushes and Romney and McCain couldn't energize at all. And the numbers just aren't enough to overcome the common-sense Americans who know that America is built on tolerance, equal rights, equal opportunity and togetherness, not on division and subjugation and repression. And incidentally, some of those common-sense Americans were Republicans before Trump came along.
The conservative wing of the party may even break off and create a 3-party system in America.
Only the rushing is heard...

Sorry to disappoint you but the one poll that is not controlled by the corrupt mainstream media shows the two are in a dead heat.
Sid, isn't it more likely that the one poll is an outlier?
Nevertheless, it does concern me.
One thing I have heard is that the non response rate for many polls is very very high. This puts the statistical foundation of surveys on shakey ground. If you think I am worried that Trump may still win, you are absolutely correct.
Of course Gates would not care about tax cuts for corporations, the largest corporations avoid US taxes by transferring all the taxable income to foreign offices. That is the heart of the problem, the corporate tax rates are so high that large US corps establish their taxable income outside of America. Trillions of dollars needs to be repatriated and put to work in America creating jobs. Without these corporations creating jobs in America soon there will not much of a working class at all, more like the unemployed class! Socialistic policies were tried for over 70 years in Russia, in case you did not notice, it failed!
The references you give about tax policy are part of the left wing media that wikileaks has documented very well are nothing but propaganda machines for Hillary Clinton.
I couldn't agree with you more. Trump has issues. I can think of at least six of the Republican candidates who would have run better against Hillary and would not have summoned up such a negative response nor had more October surprises rattling around their closets.
Hillary is simply evil. She has been above the law for her entire political career. No one has adequately explained how she was allowed to rifle through Vince Fosters papers to remove anything embarrassing before the police arrived at his apartment at the time of his supposed suicide. I expect that she will be the most disastrous president in U.S. history if she indeed wins which seems likely barring some miracle.
The problem with the WikiLeaks information is that people have to read through them to find the nuggets of gold and journalists are lazy. Much easier to put the Billy Bush tape on a loop and play it over and over. We get the leaders we deserve.
Not so fast there Bob, Trump appears to have paid almost no taxes for many many years. This has been well documented as he used a $1,000,000,000 tax loss carry as seen in1995 tax returns that were delivered not so long ago by an anonymous source. Why would he want to change something that worked so well for him?
Simplistic rhetoric . Less taxes for Trump would mean that the government would actually pay him as it appears that he pays zero taxes at the moment!
It is unclear and irrelevant what taxes he pays as long as he does so legally.
Sure and Corrupt Hillary is the one to do it? You know.... the person that made sure her donors to her foundation (and paid millions of dollars to her personally for speeches) profited heavily from the Haiti tragedy several years ago while the people of Haiti got little or no relief.
Not to mention her brother receiving a gold mine and the fact that the Clinton Foundation and their UN partners were responsible for killing some 10,000 Haitians by introducing a cholera epidemic through unsanitary disposal of their feces directly into the drinking water of the Haitian population.
Sorry to disappoint you but the one poll that is not controlled by the corrupt mainstream media shows the two are in a dead heat. Furthermore wikileaks emails show that the Clinton Camp considered Bernie a "doofus". http://www.rasmussenreports.com/publ...se_watch_oct19
Sorry to disappoint you but the one poll that is not controlled by the corrupt mainstream media ...
Who are the corrupt mainstream media? Please name them. And what are your reasons for concluding that they are corrupt?

CNN was the first that I know of. They would grab Trump tweets and edit them to their bias.
And yes, CNN got caught.
Corruption is a word defined as a dishonest gain either for money or personal. With CNN it's both!
As of today, fact checking has become tiresome and media bias has become a bore. Just today checking the number a negative Trump items compared to Hillary Clinton's negative items on CNN was appalling to say the least. At 8:00PM I counted 17 negative items on Trump ... NONE on Hillary Clinton ... NONE! As for Trump positive item 1 (it was a item by Trump's wife) Hillary Clinton's positives 5!

Meanwhile, FBI agents under Comey recommended charges be brought against Hillary Clinton!!!
That's very serious stuff Peter. A lot more serious than any p***y comments - or any other comments - made by Trump.
Hillary Clinton should be in jail ...sigh.
And as of today, 4 Republican campaign offices have received violent actions. One fire bombed and property damaged to others ...brick smashing large front window ...that sort of violence.
Does CNN concentrate fair and balanced reporting just before this third and final debate?
Um, no.
