    Congratulations to the winner, Andrei Gulko, of the monthly Cafe Pi blitz tournament in Montreal. Also to the second place finisher - formerly one of the top juniors in Armenia.

    Any idea if there will be a COQ blitz this year? I only saw information about the regular tournament on the FQE website.

      From the COQ ad on page 2 of Echec+ Mars-avril 2009:

      "Championnat blitz du Québec 2009
      1200 $ prix garantis
      Une seule section
      Samedi 25 juillet
      Inscription sur place de 17h à 18h30: 20 $ pour tous (GM: gratuit).
      Prix: $400, 300, 200, 150, 100, 50."

      I don't know why it's not mentioned on their Web page.

        Unfortunately I won't be at the Blitz. I'm taking my mother to see Bill Cosby that night for her birthday... I'll let someone else win it this year
