General Guidelines
---- Nous avons besoin d'un traduction français!
Some Basics
1. Under Board "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQs) there are 3 sections dealing with General Forum Usage, User Profile Features, and Reading and Posting Messages. These deal with everything from Avatars to Your Notifications. Most general technical questions are covered there. Here is a link to the FAQs. https://forum.chesstalk.com/help
2. Consider using the SEARCH button if you are looking for information. You may find your question has already been answered in a previous thread.
3. If you've looked for an answer to a question, and not found one, then you should consider asking your question in a new thread. For example, there have already been questions and discussion regarding: how to do chess diagrams (FENs); crosstables that line up properly; and the numerous little “glitches” that every new site will have.
4. Read pinned or sticky threads, like this one, if they look important. This applies especially to newcomers.
5. Read the thread you're posting in before you post. There are a variety of ways to look at a thread. These are covered under “Display Modes”.
6. Thread titles: please provide some details in your thread title. This is useful for a number of reasons. It helps ChessTalk members to quickly skim the threads. It prevents duplication of threads. And so on.
7. Unnecessary thread proliferation (e.g., deliberately creating a new thread that duplicates existing discussion) is discouraged. Look to see if a thread on your topic may have already been started and, if so, consider adding your contribution to the pre-existing thread. However, starting new threads to explore side-issues that are not relevant to the original subject is strongly encouraged. A single thread on the Canadian Open, with hundreds of posts on multiple sub-topics, is no better than a dozen threads on the Open covering only a few topics. Use your good judgment when starting a new thread.
8. If and/or when sub-forums are created, please make sure to create threads in the proper place.
Debate
9. Give an opinion and back it up with a reason. Throwaway comments such as "Game X pwnz because my friend and I think so!" could be considered pointless at best, and inflammatory at worst.
10. Try to give your own opinions, not simply those copied and pasted from reviews or opinions of your friends.
Unacceptable behavior and warnings
11. In registering here at ChessTalk please note that the same or similar rules apply here as applied at the previous Boardhost message board. In particular, the following content is not permitted to appear in any messages:
* Racism
* Hatred
* Harassment
* Adult content
* Obscene material
* Nudity or pornography
* Material that infringes intellectual property or other proprietary rights of any party
* Material the posting of which is tortious or violates a contractual or fiduciary obligation you or we owe to another party
* Piracy, hacking, viruses, worms, or warez
* Spam
* Any illegal content
* unapproved Commercial banner advertisements or revenue-generating links
* Any link to or any images from a site containing any material outlined in these restrictions
* Any material deemed offensive or inappropriate by the Board staff
12. Users are welcome to challenge other points of view and opinions, but should do so respectfully. Personal attacks on others will not be tolerated. Posts and threads with unacceptable content can be closed or deleted altogether. Furthermore, a range of sanctions are possible - from a simple warning to a temporary or even a permanent banning from ChessTalk.
Helping to Moderate
13. 'Report' links (an exclamation mark inside a triangle) can be found in many places throughout the board. These links allow users to alert the board staff to anything which is offensive, objectionable or illegal. Please consider using this feature if the need arises.
Advice for free
14. You should exercise the same caution with Private Messages as you would with any public posting.
The Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, recently conducted a lengthy interview with media. He had plenty to say about both the domestic and foreign policy matters. He also commented about US President Donald Trump.

As for Trump, you might ask me a question and I give you an answer that might sound strange. I say that he is the best American President, not because his policies are good, but because he is the most transparent president. All American presidents perpetrate all kinds of political atrocities and all crimes and yet still win the Nobel Prize and project themselves as defenders of human rights and noble and unique American values, or Western values in general. The reality is that they are a group of criminals who represent the interests of American lobbies, i.e. the large oil and arms companies, and others. Trump talks transparently, saying that what we want is oil. This is the reality of American policy, at least since WWII. We want to get rid of such and such a person or we want to offer a service in return for money. This is the reality of American policy. What more do we need than a transparent opponent? That is why the difference is in form only, while the reality is the same....
If some fool says that Assad likes Trump, then it only means a fool is always a fool and a liar is always a liar.
Dogs will bark, but the caravan of chess moves on.
The complaint is going to be dismissed in the Senate just as the complaint against Clinton was though at least in that case a majority of the Senate voted to impeach but not the super majority required to successfully convict. I do see a lot of fictional polling going on that a sizable minority of republicans want him impeached and removed but I don't believe it. Rinos don't count.
Still a win according to your own definition when accepting the bet.
As recently as 2 months ago I thought I was going to lose this bet.
Looking good on that bet Garland.
Impeachment by the House of Representatives is a win. Excellent.
The Senate vote is much harder to predict. But we can still dream.
Hi Guys: I think the cast is die in the Senate: no conviction after the trial (Just like Clinton). The GOP have the majority in the Senate, and there will be no mass defection for the purpose of impeaching. The GOP house members have generally been quite vocal that this impeachment should not be happening; it is just Democratic Party partisan politics.
I, personally, think Trump is impeachable, objectively, on a number of possible "articles of impeachment". But the "trial" is NOT unbiased and NOT objective. It is not a jury as you find in the normal justice trial. The verdict is already "fixed".
Do you think Trump will be the GOP nominee for 2020?
A new poll shows Trump beating top 2020 Democrats in Texas despite predictions of a "blue wave" in the Lone Star State.The closest head-to-head matchup in the state was between Trump and Sanders. The self-described Democratic socialist garnered support from 40 percent of voters polled, compared with Trump's 45 percent.
Prophet Kim Clement predicted a two term president Donald Trump in 2007. He expanded on this in 2013, 2014 and 2015 before Trump was an actual candidate. He even predicted the impeachment push. His prophecies foreshadowed many of the investigations going on at the moment. If his predictions are correct things will not go well for the democrats. He mentions Russia and Ukraine specifically and a few other places.

40% in Texas is very encouraging. Nobody really expects Democrats to win Texas.
The biggest worry in all of these states is that the exodus from New York and California due to boneheaded Democrat policies turning them into crime-ridden wastelands both economic, spiritual and physical will export a number of people who will have to repeat the lesson of these failed states in order to learn the lesson that only ruin lies down that path. Texas is in play if the Dems win the presidency and open borders. Evil will not win in the long run though. The people coming in may be Democrats to start with but their values are really family oriented and in the long run will trend in the Republican direction particularly with the insane excesses of the left.
