Re: CFC Quick Ratings - special update
The adjustment to the Quick ratings is now complete.
So your Quick rating may or may not have been adjusted. The parameters are as follows:
1) Players who have no Quick Chess Rating but have an established rating of XXXX, will have their Quick Chess Rating set to XXXX/10.
2) Players who have played in a Quick chess event in the past 5 years, whose Quick Chess Rating is below their regular CFC rating, their new Quick rating will be the average of Regular and old Quick rating.
3) Players who have a Quick Chess Rating, but have not played in the past 5 years or at all, will have their Quick Chess Rating set to XXXX/10 if their current CFC rating of XXXX is higher that their Quick Chess rating.
I have checked a few calculations, and it appears all is okay. If you believe your new Quick rating is wrong, please send an email to info@chess.ca
Note: A few years ago, the Active rating system was updated to cover all games less than 1 hour per player, and the term Quick rating was adopted. There are still many references to Active rating on the website. Please just read as: Active rating = Quick rating.

An oversight. I will get that fixed and scour the database for other errors before the update next week.
Thanks.

Re: CFC Quick Ratings - special update
Unfortunately, additional problems were discovered with the quick rating adjustment done last week.
That adjustment will be scrubbed. Consequently, the rating update today is delayed until tomorrow.
Tomorrow, we hope to do both the regular weekly update plus the quick rating adjustment.
If it isn't something, then it's something else. :)

but......
I did miss the ACC December rapid, and tournament crosstables ending in 2017 didn't get uploaded to the website.
So, we will do another update today and get that all fixed.
Just goes to show,
If it isn't something, then it's something else.
