Re: Work in progress ... suggestion

Yeah I think I can do that. But I'm not sure.

It's not normally done because it messes up the new post indicators but since I upgraded those to the 10-day thingy I think it will be ok.

The only issue will be whether I can make it ONLY happen on the forumdisplay page and not every single page (which WOULD mess up the new post indicators).

yeah, I agree, you would have to be careful... :)

but I like the idea of autorefreshing the thread summary after a while (that ends up being what I do manually anyway)

        Hi Chris:

I see on the topics page the number of viewers of the post. Is there any counting of the number of viewers for a specific reply, as there is on the old board. If so , where do I find it? If not, can it be added? It was helpful on seeing how specific replies were attracting viewers. Thanks.

          Chris,
Is there any special settings for Calendar?
I've noticed that Events in Calendar can be seen only by registered users. Is it possible to make that any person who comes could see them?

I think it should work now. I'm not sure why it defaults to the other way.

              Re: Work in progress ...

              Hi Chris:

I asked a question previously, but you may have missed it. On the old board, there were counters of views, not only for the original post, but also for the individual replies. On the new board, there seems to be only a counter on the main topics page for views of the original thread. Or am I missing it somewhere. If it is not here, can it be implemented?

Secondly, on the old board, as I understood it, when the same computer came back to view a thread, a return viewing was NOT counted. Only new viewers were counted. But here on the new board, it appears to me that if you return to view a posting, the program counts this as another view. Is this true? Can it be changed to be like the old board?

              Thanks.

              Bob

                Reply Title:

I cannot see how to change the thread title when doing a reply, if the topic has shifted somewhat, like in this case here. I don't see anywhere to change the title and don't see any icons that deal with this. Can someone help me out here, since I see people are changing the titles sometimes? Thanks

I believe the only way is "Go Advanced" (vs. Post Quick Reply)

                    Hi Ari:

I am somewhat computer and website challenged - where do I find " Go Advanced" ? Oh, now I see it, at the bottom. Thanks.

Mister Coleman, how did you proceed to make and post your diagram ?
I mean, did you used a option (button) somewhere on the page ?
I understand the notation Forsesight (spelleing ?) you used, but still.

                      Below, I replaced
                      [ by (
                      and
                      ] by ).

                      (CENTER) followed by
                      (diagram) and
                      (6rr/PP768/4k2p/7P/2N2P2/4K3/8 b - - 0 54) and
                      (/diagram) and
                      (/CENTER)

                      I wonder what the "b - - 0 54" means.

                      Thank you.

The diagram is just most likely using "Copy Position" from Chessbase or Fritz, then paste into the middle of the diagram tags.

Also if you hit the Quote button on a post it will automatically go into advanced mode.
