FINALLLY (lol), we can announce the official posting of the 2017 Ontario Open flyer!
It can be found at the EOCA (Eastern Ontario Chess Association) site: https://eoca.ca

Some of the conditions are a bit different, as we tried to build an event that was very friendly to travellers!
Note that people who register by the end of this month will receive coupons to spend at the onsite restaurant!
Also note neighbouring Carleton University is offering superb lodging deals, get on that soon! (weblink included)
And thanks to the support of the OCA and the EOCA, at least 100% of the entry fees will be returned as prizes!

    All the best,

    Aris Marghetis
    EOCA President

No age restrictions. Actually, I've never heard of that before. Anyway, we're inclusive!

As an anti-sandbagging measure, we're using TODAY's rating lists (FIDE, CFC, FQE for Quebecois)

              EOCA Grand Prix Standings Update

              Thank you Mr. President, Sir.

Your humble lackey Mr. Vice President here to give a brief update on the 2016-2017 EOCA Grand Prix Standings pre-Ontario Open. The Ontario Open is a 6 round event so an extra bonus point could be available to help you catch up to the leaders to date or to increase your standing.

              U1900

              1st = Daniel Xu with 20.0 in 8 events

Re: EOCA Grand Prix Standings Update

                Thank YOU Mr.Vice-President Sir!

By the way, due to family commitments, I am very rarely at the RA club on Thursday evenings. However, I will be there tomorrow (Sunday, May 7th) from 11am to about 1pm. So, if you would like to REGISTER in person for the ONTARIO OPEN, please meet me there tomorrow midday. The Ontario Open flyer can be found posted at the eoca.ca tournament calendar.

                Thanks and regards, Aris.

Yes, I plan to post one by the end of day Monday, but of course hopefully sooner.

For those who are emailing me, sometimes multiple times, sometimes intensely, I will reply. However, I have spent most of the last 5 days in the hospital tending to a relative.

For those of you who have already registered straightforwardly, thank you lots!

We look forward to hosting you for a smooth fun event in Ottawa next weekend!

Hello again, just a quick note that the pre-registered list won't be ready tonight. There's still a nice stack of mail on my kitchen table, which I hope to fully process by late Tuesday.
