CYCC Qualifier in Markham!
Hi Everyone!
We'll be holding a CYCC Qualifier on May 27th, details below.
Last time we had 150 kids for the OCC Qualifier, so will allow up to 200 this time as we're more experienced :)
MARKHAM-CCYC“Happy Life” Grand Prix Kids’ Chess Tournament
Saturday, May 27th
Location: Pierre Trudeau High School, 90 Bur Oak Ave, Markham
Age Groups: Under 8, 10, 12, 14 ,16,18 (based on 6 players, otherwise group merges)
Registration: Pre-registration and online payment only, should be done online by May 25th. please check-in by 11:15AM on May,27th.

Organizer: CCYC --Canada Chess Youth Club
Title Sponsor: Happy Life
Tournament begins at: 12PM 5-round Swiss, clocks used if necessary ,
bring your own clock highly encouraged Ends around 5:30PM
Half-point byes are available for rounds 1-4, please indicate any desired byes on the registration form.
All games will be CFC active rated
Prizes: each tournament 1st place gets a trophy plus a $50 gift-card,
2nd gets a silver medal ,
3rd gets bronze .
In the case of a tie for 1st place, play-offs will be used to determine the winner
Players tied for 2nd and 3rd will all get medals
2.5 points and above will qualify for the Canadian Youth Chess Championships, which be held in Sault Ste. Marie this year in July
Prizes/Certificates will be awarded by the mayor of Markham!
Registration: Email of parent; Cell number in case of emergencies; Full name of player
Birth date ; Existing CFC rating; existing CCYC student or not;
Byes requested for round:
Entry Fees: $20 for CCYC students if pre-registered and paid online,
$30 for those who pre-registered and paid on-line before May 20th
$40 for those who pre-registered and paid on-line before May 25th
e-transfer &paypal accepted: canadachessyouthclub@gmail.com ; (paypal must select send money to a friend)(prizes based on 100 players, will accept up to 200 players)
