    The Americas Continental starts June 9 (Friday) in Medellin, Colombia. Canada has four players: Anton Kovalyov, Raja Panjwani, Shiyam Thavandiran, and Elias Oussedik.
    The top 4 qualify for the World Cup tournament.

            Round 11 - the top four places have already been decided - even with Anton's currently unfinished game - so he will not qualify (via this route) for the next FIDE k/o.

              I just found out that he'll continue his studies (master degree) at UT Dallas and will be part of the university chess team.

                Anton has already qualified for the 2017 World Cup from his performance in 2016.
