  • Chess Romance - it's a thing.

I have been invited to the wedding of Jason Bell and Katherine Melnyk this September. Of course I plan to go.

Jason and Katherine met at the Monday night Wood Sense Chess Club in Duncan, B.C. - a club which I founded and continue to run.

I'm happy to report that Jason and Katherine were married on Saturday. The ceremony took place on Crofton beach during a beautiful, sunny day. The wedding cake had a chess theme complete with a chess problem.

Awesome to read and inspiring for some of us chessplayers. Congratulations on your part in it all.

        Thanks, Hans.

I messaged a very famous GM with the story and she passed along her best wishes. The couple will undoubtedly be thrilled.
