CoinHive

After supper yesterday (November 24), I started getting unwanted alerts from the Mackeeper website to use its Virus Scan on my Mac. My web browser is Safari.
The alerts still persist on the ChessTalk website but nowhere else. There definitely is something that has to be scrubbed from this site.
In addition, when I have accessed the site from my iPhone, I get the CoinHive advert.
This is just like the situation we had this past April:

I just phoned Mackeeper and told them my troubles and I was directed to clear my history from Safari and to put in an ad blocker and it appears that things are all right with my desktop Mac.
On my iPhone I am getting an ad with gold coins raining down from a site called 68dare-t-com. It concerns GSN Casino games so I still have problems there.
Time to forget ChessTalk until the London Chess Classic!

Re: CoinHive
Not sure what is happening overall but my Kaspersky Free Antivirus is barking a lot about ChessTalk attempting to load some javascript named:
26.11.2017 20.58.49; Detected object (file) cannot be disinfected;

Oh well, moving elsewhere for now...Mike Pence: the Lord of the fly.

After I had trouble with my Mac desktop computer, it was recommended that I download and activate the AdBlock extension for Safari. It shows that ChessTalk has three popup ads but it prevents them from appearing.
However, on my iPhone, I still get the rain of golden coins, the casino ad and other things, which make trying to access ChessTalk a nightmare.
When I try to post a new thread from my Mac, the formatting features have gone and I have to use a workaround. Other features are missing and I often get a message that “this webpage was reloaded because a problem occurred’.
The company that maintains our website should go in and do a thorough cleaning and maintenance.
When this happened before during the Olympiad in September of 2016, the maintenance wiped out a whole month of postings! One would hope that they would be more careful this time.
You’ll recall Garland Best posting on September 20th, 2016: The lost month – Good to see chesstalk back up. but we lost a month of posts! All the discussion of the chess olympiad – gone!
