  • CanBase updates!

CanBase (database of Canadian games) has been updated, with over 1600 games added since the last update in October.
Additions include all games from the 1972 Ottawa Open - won by Lawrence Day and Leo Williams.

    Re: CanBase updates!

Please note that many modifications have been made to games played between 2000 and 2002. Some results and player names have been reversed to their correct ones, and many dates and ratings have been added. I will continue - going back in time as long as crosstables are available on the CFC and/or FQE sites - and forward in time at a later date.

Many thanks yet again for your diligence in putting on the record all these games. Your database is a national treasure. How do you manage it? How do you pay for it?

Nothing to pay for - the FQE supplies the site. I make a global update once every three months - collecting Canadian games during that period. Unfortunately - some parts of the country don't seem to be willing to share their games, so a lot of Canadian GM/IM/other strong player games are missing.
