  • Still a virus (or whatever) in ChessTalk

Every time I go into ChessTalk, the CPU for my Firefox session soars to close to 100%. I think there is still the problem of crypto "miners" taking over your computer while you are connected to ChessTalk.

Temporary solution: do what you need to do on Chesstalk, and exit right away - don't leave a ChessTalk session open.

    Thanks...I have forwarded the info.

Can't wait for the transfer of this site to be completed LOL.

The new owner will be updating the version of Vbulletin as well as other modifications which should prevent this silliness.

This problem still exists for me (high CPU usage as long as I'm connected to ChessTalk).

No such effect on my system, using the same browser. CPU usage remains very low while connected to this site.

I think the problem is at your end, not the board's. Time to break out the old virus checker and you probably need one that detects root kits.

There was a problem but it appears to have been fixed. I doubt it has anything to do with a root kit. The issue was clearly on the website.
