RA Fall Open: $20 discount ending (and registered list)

In order to encourage earlier (and more!) registrations/payments to the RA Fall Open, we are offering early bird discounts. For the month of July, that discount has been $20, but July is about to end, and the early bird discount for August will be only $15. Therefore, if you would still like to take advantage of the July $20 discount, your cheque must be mailed so that it is postmarked by July 31st. Note that you can ask for a full refund before the first pairings.

If you are a local player, and would prefer to pay in person (still cheque or cash), I am planning on playing in the RA pick-up event this Thursday evening.

In addition to the paid players listed below, IM Tom O'Donnell and Daniel Abrahams (Toronto area?) have also indicated their intention to pay during July.

The Eastern Ontario Chess Association (EOCA) organizes the EOCA Grand Prix, a series of weekend tournaments over the 2009-2010 chess season.

The next EOCA event in Ottawa will be the RA Fall Open, on September 25th-27th. It will consist of 5 rounds, with flexible bye and Amateur options.

We have multiple sections, and class prizes for every 200 rating points from 2200 to 1400. Every player will be submitted for both CFC and FIDE rating.

Please note we are offering significant early bird discounts! The earlier you register and pay, the more money you save! This also applies to players with FIDE titles, who may also save money with their FIDE title. Please check out the specific discount amounts and cutoff dates in the event announcement.

Hi there, a few people have been emailing me to check whether I will be at the RA club this Thursday evening, and yes, I expect to be there, both to take payments, and also to play. Therefore, if you get there after 730pm, please wait until it is my move before trying to get my attention, out of respect for my opponent. Thanks in advance for that.

This Thursday evening at the RA club will be the last chance to take advantage of the $20 discount while paying me in person. If you cannot pay me in person on Thursday, then your other option to still take advantage of the $20 July discount, is to mail your registration and payment, postmarked by July 31st. For those of you who have already mailed me your payments, thank you very much, and I will reply by this weekend in confirmation. There is a pile on my desk, but I have much contract work for a few days.
