  • For you Chessbase 9 experts....

I am trying to enter (the rest of) this game from the CYCC, and Chessbase always crashes after I add the moves 44. a8(Q)+ Kc5 45. Qa6 f6. As soon as I try moving the P on f7 to f6, Chessbase 9 hangs, and I have to force it to end and restart - losing any part of the game I didn't save (I re-entered it, and saved it after move 43). No problems with any other games. This happened at with exactly the same move the 4 or 5 times I tried it.

Can someone try entering the above moves (using Chessbase 9, and .CBH format (not .PGN))? (import the following game, and convert it to .CBH).

No big deal - White is up 2 Q's, but I would like to get the entire game in.

      Hi Hugh

I had the almost the same problem. The difference was my chessbase9 crashed after 44. a8(Q)+ . Will look into this curious incident later today. It is simply too hot for me to sit at my computer and it is only 11:30 in the am.

Did try to load game via straight text file ----paste....with extra move inserted....same result...hard crash.
      Hmmmm...

I had no problem, but.... I have had similar problems in the past and changing the Heumas settings has fixed it. (problems figuring out the best move with so many checks maybe???)

I had exactly the same problem, which went away after the heumas was turned off, as noted by Roger. Another solution is to manually enter the remaining moves in a text file, then paste them into the game window.

I entered the following "game" recently; Chessbase didn't crash, but got awfully slow from moves 55-56 or so to the end (a minute or two to enter each individual move)

I turned the Heumas setting off, and was able to enter the final moves with no problems.

I created a pgn and imported and saved as cbh, but I see now that Hugh wanted it done from within Chessbase 9

I was going to create a pgn and import it as a last resort if everything else failed. But since the Heumas setting change worked, I won't bother (since there were only 3 or 4 moves left in the game).

                Thanks everyone for your help.
