    Tata Steel Chess India 2018

    The first TATA Steel Chess India tournament will commence 9-14 November in Kolkata and consist of Rapid and Blitz events with separate prize funds. Playing dates are 9-11 for rapid and 13-14 November for blitz games. The super-tournament has a strong line-up of Viswanathan Anand, Karjakin Sergey, Levon Aronian, Hikaru Nakamura, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Wesley So, Harikrishna Pentala, Vidit Gujrathi, Surya Sekhar Ganguly and two Indian prodigies Nihal Sarin and Praggnanandhaa R. who will both make their debut playing tournaments of such a high level. Nihal will join the nine players for Rapid and Pragg - for blitz.

    The total prize money in the two events is US$ 40,000 with first prizes of US$ 10,000 and US$ 7,500 in the Rapid and Blitz tournaments, respectively.

    Finally an event in India promoted by Tata Steel (an Indian company) and they will have great interest with the two prodigies Nihal Sarin and Pragg playing! Exciting!
