Here is the the official announcement - Montreal Open Chess Championship team

    CHESS’N MATH ASSOCIATION
Chess’n Math invites you for free at the Montreal Open Chess Championship

    Hi,

Chess’n Math Association wishes to acknowledge the glamour of the 89th edition of the Montreal Open Championship to be held from September 11 to 13, 2009. The dropdown list of players with profiles and photos on their Website, and the promotion of chess among girls attracted our Association. What a great way to promote chess among young people and parents! Bravo.

The Chess’n Math Association invites for free to the Championship every youth of our association rated over 900 with Chess’n Math and who has never participated in a “slow” game rated tournament (FQE, CCF, USCF, FIDE, etc.). This agreement is valid for 2009, 2010 and 2011.

This tournament spread over 3 days from Friday evening to Sunday evening. Each game can last several hours. You must therefore prepare yourself accordingly to play that speed with a chess clock. Your Chess’n Math rating will be used in the tournament.

Register now at paiement.championnatdemontreal.mine.nu making sure to include in the comment line: “Chess’n Math invites me for free!”.

Girls, you will notice that the sponsor www.goddesschess.com provides an additional cash prize pool of $105 for you and a certificate "Female Champion of Montreal" to the best girl in the Championship.

This Championship is rated by FQE. You will therefore need to obtain by yourself a FQE Passport-Membership Card at the tournament site or online. This is explained on the tournament website.

We wish to all a good Montreal Open Championship.

Re : Chess’n Math invites you for free at the Montreal Open Chess Championship

    Hi,

The Montreal Open Chess Championship is extremely proud to announce this three-years agreement with Chess'n Math Association. Chess'n Math is dedicated in the promotion of chess among kids. They offer one free entry to each member of Chess'n Math having a rating over 900 points and who has never participated in a slow game rated tournament.

Here is what Chess'n Math will do to promote this agreement:

A - This agreement will appear on the website desktop of the Montreal Open Chess Championships.
B - The printed Chess'n Math calendar will have a statement for the Championship the same way they do for their own tournaments.
Click here to see the printed calendar. We are the first tournament in September!
C - The online web calendar will also mention the Montreal Championship as any other tournaments of Chess'n Math Association .
D - An advertisement will appear on the Chess'n Math bulletin board.

For PAIRINGS purposes, the Chess'n Math rating will be used to ensure continuity among youth who have invested so much in their rating over the years. Furthermore, our pairings will be more appropriate that way.

No doubt this agreement will provide additional motivation for Chess'n Math young players and will give them even more will to discover the door to the practice of Slow Chess for the rest of their lifes.

Thank you Chess'n Math and Larry Bevand for this agreement and visibility.
