I like Hugh's suggestion......it is the way it was handled for "The North Bay International" and "The Toronto International". Why not the "Longueuil International"......as I understand it Longueuil is part of the greater Montreal Region, but is not "part of the City of Montreal". Is it not a "city" in its own right?

The name can be a bit confusing. The French version has no mention of "Open" ("Ouvert") in the name...as if it were a closed, invitational event. "Canadian" seems to indicate a championship sanctioned by the CFC rotating to various sites throughout the country. This event will be in a more or less fixed site and its name should reflect that fact. Perhaps "Montreal International" or a similar title?

I find it strange being called a "Championship" The Quebec Open or Canadian Open are Championships of a geographical area. Do you have an example of another international tournament being called a championship?
It's great that you get Cuban GMs to play, it's a fantastic event. But I would think that the 9-round Quebec Open in the same hotel would be the tournament of the year, as it can get norms.
Also, the website mentions " great masters", They might be considered just "grandmasters."
