Schedule:
- Each round starts at 1:30pm every Saturday, from April 27 to June 22 except May 18 and June 15.
- Make up round days and locations:
- June 17: Annex Chess Club – 459 Bloor Street West; round starts at 7:30pm
- May 18 and June 15: Willowdale Chess Club – 131 Finch Avenue West; rounds start at 3pm
- Make up rounds must be completed before the final round (June 22) for those who have, through mutual agreement with their opponent, postponed a game
- Carbon copies are to be preserved for submission to the arbiter
- St. Timothy Catholic School, 25 Rochelle Crescent, Toronto ON M2J 1Y3, Room 209
- Staff room offers ample space for play, and is very quiet
- Near Sheppard Avenue East and Don Mills Road intersection
- Championship:
- 8-player Round Robin comprising the highest 6 rated Toronto players who register, the defending Toronto Champion, and the 2018 Reserve winner
- If either the defending champion or Reserve winner does not register, they will be replaced by the next highest rated players
- Reserve:
- 8-player Round Robin comprising the next 8 highest rated registrants – winner qualifies for next year’s Championship in 2020
- Round Robin Pairings are randomized by computer
Default time: 30 minutes
Registration:
- Entry Fee: $90 (pay methods – pay by cash in person to William Li OR online by eTransfer to: william.li.2247@outlook.com)
- Payment must be received by April 20, 2019, 11:59pm. After that, registration closes.
- A registration is completed when the organizer successfully receives the money (If eTransfer, please email william.li.2247@outlook.com the security password)
- If a registered player cancels:
- Before April 13, 11:59pm: Full refund
- After: No refund
- If paid and not top 16 rated: Full refund
- Championship 1st - $400, clock, and trophy
- Championship 2nd - $200
- Reserve 1st - $150 and qualify for next year’s championship
- Reserve 2nd - $100
- This event is CFC rated. All players must be CFC members in good standing.
- This event is also FIDE rated for both Championship and Reserve sections.
- Chess sets and clocks are provided.
