Concordia Club member Brent Golem alertly noticed that Robin van Kampen's twitter feed listed his location as Waterloo, Ontario. We asked if he would be willing to do a lecture, and he agreed!

Twenty players attended a fascinating lecture by Robin van Kampen at the Concordia Club last night. The main subject that he explored was how to connect and learn from similar structures arrived at in different games. Audience participation was enthusiastic, and we enjoyed snacks and coffee that were made possible by a donation from an anonymous sponsor! Also, many thanks to Robin!

All in all, a very enjoyable evening.

GM Robin was open, friendly, and down to earth with endless discussion at dinner. The lecture was very revealing discussing opening ideas, strategy tailor made to the positions (the whys), tactics and resulting checkmate attacks. GM Robin was open to discussing all variations and coaxed all levels of players into contributing. Very entertaining! Thanks.
