  • Ontario High School Chess Championship

The Ontario High School Chess Championships were held last weekend. The games have been CFC rated, but for some reason the team results have not been published. https://www.ohscc.on.ca/results.html

CFC youth coordinator Christina Tao sent this email on April 6th:

Just want to share this happiness with all of you with the picture.

15 players from Massey High School traveled to Toronto on Thursday for 2 days Ontario High School Chess Championship.

They just finished and coming home with first place in the Champion section, first place in Intermediate section and 3rd place in beginner section.

It is so excited, happy and so proud for Windsor team. They are coming home with 3 huge trophies and lot of individual medals.

This year, there are 147 high school students from 33 schools across 13 cities participated in this event.

Yes, the team from Windsor cleaned up, with an impressive 6 players in the championship division. Windsor obviously has a strong chess program. The event was well organized, had a great venue right near the Eaton Centre and featured some of the top young players in the province.
