One new feature in this year's tournament is that we will award trophies to players with the best scores for each board number (i.e. 1 to 4) in both the Round Robin and Swiss sections.

It's just come to my attention that the email in the registration information had an error. I have fixed that. Since some of you may not have had success trying to email me, I am extending the preregistration deadline to June 18. My email address is bclarke1661@rogers.com.

10 teams came to battle. Kingpin (Avinaash Sundar, Jude Aniunoh, Alfred Dagan and Mike McDonald) finished first with 4.5/5. Concordia Chess Club (Gord Olheiser, Andrew Lehman, Sam St Clair and a fourth) finished in outright second with 4/5.

Our next event is the 3rd KW Marathon in the summer. Format is likely to be same as always: 4 rounds of quick (rounds 1-4) + blitz tournament on Saturday and 3 rounds of quick (rounds 5-7) + blitz tournament on Sunday. Stay tuned!
