Re: Montreal International - round 1 games

Some corrections to previously posted games - I have the scoresheets in front of me and am comparing them with the PGN files. More corrections will follow if needed.

In the following game, the last move on Bluvshtein's scoresheet is 35. Qxb8+. Onischuk has an extra pair of moves - both of which are unreadable. Let's just say the game ended at move 35 - i.e remove Black's 35th, and moves 36 and 37.

Re: Montreal International - round 1 games

        Hi Hugh:

In Rd. 6, Akobian's win over Naiditsch, have you discovered whether the last move was in fact 16.Bxh7+? The live DGT board showed that the game went on for a few more moves, if it is to be believed. The pgn and viewer don't show these moves.

More corrections - I have also corrected a few rating errors. I will post a link to the complete set of games at the end of the tournament.

In this game - move 15 (Qc2) was not played.

Re: Montreal International - round 1 games

It seems no one has answered my above question. I'd like to repost it.

            Bluvshtien-Tiviakov Round 7, 10th MI

But couldn't white have won with 66. d6+ followed by Bg4 and d7. I'm not sure about this variation, if someone could look deeper into it...

P.S. You can copy the moves as a pgn.

Re: Montreal International - After 8 Rounds

Naiditsch and Bacrot, the two co-leaders, just drew. So after 8 rds., they still stand 1st/2nd, with 5 1/2 pts., with no one able to join them at the top.

Currently Bluvshtein, Kovalyov and Maze all have 4 pts. after 7 rounds. They are all still playing.

Re: Montreal International - round 1 games

Maze has won. He is in 3rd place with 5 pts. Ha can be joined by Kovalyov and Bluvshtein. Thomas Roussel-Roozmon is up 2 pawns against Bluvshtein but Mark has a very active Queen and Rook.

Re: Montreal International - After 8 Rounds

The top of the standings after 8 rounds are:

                  1/2. Naiditsch; Bacrot - 5.5 pts.
                  3. Maze - 5 pts.
                  4/5. Kovalyov; Bhat - 4.5 pts.

Bluvshtein lost to Roussel-Roozmon and has 4 pts. still.
