  • British Championships 2019

British Championships are happening. Michael Adams continues to weave his magic. Note how he gets the 2 B's and how he uses them.

Howell was completely lost yesterday in R and P vs R ending and managed to draw. Quite instructive. Also Arkell managed to save a lost ending yesterday. That was a great tournament to play in. Not sure if Canadians are still allowed to play?

Hmmm. Probably a reaction to all the strong players from India?

haha, I remember him as a 14 year old boy at the British Championship - late 1980's. He was watching me play blitz and told me afterward that my moves did nothing. We all knew then he would be a superstar. He did manage to sneak out to the pub with us, but he was with his father. Yes, very nice guy with a great sense of humour.
