  • Recognition of two young Canadian chessplayers

The Chess'n Math Association, Canada's National Scholastic Chess Organization, and the Montreal Chess Club held their annual Xmas party last night.

    About 80 people took part.

The Association took this opportunity to recognize the recent accomplishments of two young players - Maïli-Jade Ouellet and Olivier Kenta Chikku-Ratté.

Each player received a cheque from the Association for $1,000!

At Chess'n Math we try to do what we can for young Canadian chessplayers.

      A funny story:

i noticed that the day after the party their cheques had passed threw our bank account! It turns out that they took a picture of their cheque while they were munching on their food...and it was deposited the same night :).

We had put their newly earned titles as part of the text on the cheque...Well at least they get to keep the cheque as a souvenir :).

I must confess that I have never used this technology...I enjoy the stroll to the bank, yack with the folks at the bank and walk back to the office LOL
