    The Youngest Grandmaster Ever Graphic

    February 27, 2020

At the end of an article about 14-year-old Aydin Suleymanli of Azerbaijan winning this year’s edition of the Aeroflot Open, there is a moving graphic showing the youngest grandmasters from 1950 to present.

You can see it better on You Tube:

    Some comments:

    - Great video. Well done

    - God d*mnit. 12,13,14 year olds? What am I doing with my life?

    - Quite ironic to see Bobby Fischer being taken down by Judit Polgar. Anyway, so many great players are in this list

    - it is quite impressive to see the young age of these GM. Understand that some of these achievers' development were fast tracked by having trainers, a wealth of information and financial aid. Most attend school to meet the minimum requirement of being literate. Understand, I am not by any means taking away from their accomplishment. We are witnessing the same level of achievement in the professional sports world. Better training methods, coaches and financial support. The effort is more directed and focus to this end. I'm sure that if the same efforts, financial commitment and training methodology were employed to achieve a given goal, the rate of success should increase. Again, quite a feat of achievement to produce GMs!

    - The fact that Fischer held the title of youngest GM for nearly 35 years in an age with no computer engines is absolutely insane. That kid must have literally devoured every single chess book on the planet at the time.

    - Thats great, too fast, i need to pause the video to understand well , but great

    - The only chess standings where Magnus isn't on No. 1
