        Comments

        - From going behind 5.5-6.5, then won two in row, that’s where he won the match. Congrats to the new kid on the blitz block.

        - We are seeing the beginning of some great rivalry - did the current World Champion just lose a match against his successor?

        - You almost never see Magnus so flustered. Not even Hikaru can do this to him in blitz. I wonder if Alireza will cause more shocks in the invitational tournament!

        - Congratulations to Alireza Firouzja on winning the #BanterBlitzCup and $14,000! Magnus: "He's amazingly strong - full credit

        - Hello chess24, I know you shouldn’t change the rules during a tournament but if you make it 16 more games NOBODY WILL MIND

        - I know it's only blitz... but the win by Firouzja over Carlsen feels like a moment in history. Well done to the kid!

Magnus's crushed him in the 15th game but didnt come out with much in the 16th. Congratulations Firoujza!

Yes, at last someone to inspire Magnus to try harder. The next few years should be very exciting. Firoujza is the real deal.

                  Wayne's coverage is way better!
His Herceg Novi, Semmering Baden, work, etc., world-class, absolutely gripping!!

I know Ed Winter, and lots of others have covered other great events of the past,
but nobody, just nobody, gives it the modern spin on cut-and-thrust, like Wayne!

So looking forward to his coverage of Zurich 1953, Baden Baden 1925, etc!

Yes, Wayne does not get enough credit. I am sure it is a lot of work and he does a fabulous job. Thank you Wayne. One of the main reasons I check this site every day.
