Lewis Harkes (~2050) -- Jonathan Parker (~2215), Ontario Junior Championship, Kingston 1994, rd. 2, played October 29, 1994. Time controls: 30|90, SD|60. French Defense, Exchange, C01. Parker received #1 in the draw for the six-player round robin, giving him Black for his first two games. He won game one over John Hall, in a very well played King's Indian (see En Passant Dec. 1994, Across Canada section, for my report), and here wins game two, from the Black side of an Exchange French, over another close rival, giving him the inside track to winning the tournament, which he did the next day. Matthew Struthers, OCA Youth Coordinator, was head organizer and head TD for the event; I assisted in both capacities.
